Amiga Anywhere Entertainment Pack #1 (Review)
Author: Neil J. Rubenking   Date Verified:
Back when the IBM PC was mostly used in text mode, the Amiga A1000 blazed with 4,096 colors and stereo sound. This package brings four Amiga-style games to your Pocket PC or phone, including Solitaire, Gobbler, Convex, and an elaborate outer-space shoot-'em-up called Planet Zed. But don't expect your PDA to be as thumb-friendly as a Nintendo Game Boy.

If your a fist time visitors, this site is dictated to covering all information on the next generation of Amiga`s. With the imminent arrival of the Amiga One, Amiga OS 4.X and Amiga DE, the future of Amiga has never looked healthier. All these products need a web site to report on them, and this is just one of them. AmigaNG started way back in Feb 1999 to cover news on the Amiga MCC (later cancelled), it is now one of the longest running next generation site. Its not official, and is not sponsor, but is done out of momentum. Enjoy the site.

  AmigaDE at polarBoing
  Author: Nicolas Mendoza   Date Verified:
You might wonder what this site is all about, well here it comes: I have bought the SDK myself and have found it very interesting to work with. However I thought it lacked documentation, tutorials and examples for a beginner like me. I have been hanging around at the #developer channel on Exodusnet and participating on mailing-lists and have got a lot of tips and help by being there. Good. Still, two reasons made me make this site. The first one is that I think the sites that exist and that focus on AmigaDE are either very poor on information, not updated enough or half-hearted. The second reason is all the information that flows around on mailing-lists and IRC should be gathered and archived some place and should be available for far more people than those active on IRC or ML's. So, there you have it.

  AmigaOS4 Windows Look
  Author: Graham   Date Verified:
Introduction - Hyperion have put up some screenshots of the look and feel of AmigaOS4 at http://www.os4.hyperion- Software.com / Screenshots / screenshots.html. These are not the final look and feel of AmigaOS4, but in a fit of boredom I have decided to see what I can do with them to make them look nicer in my opinion. One of my key design issues is that the changes I make can be replicated with code easily - I will only try and do straight lines of colour, or blocks of colour. There will be no fancy pixmap addition here.

AROS - The Amiga Research OS
  Author: Aaron Digulla   Date Verified:
Some time back in the year 1993, the situation for the Amiga looked somewhat worse than usual (doesn't it always?) and some Amiga fans got together and argued about what should be done to increase the acceptance of our beloved machine. Immediately the main reason for the missing success of the Amiga became clear: it was propagation - or the lack thereof. The Amiga should get a more widespread basis to make it more attractive for everyone to use and to develop for. So plans were made to reach this goal. One of the plans was to fix all bugs of the AmigaOS, another was to make it an OS of the 90s. AOS was born.

  GameOver Game Reviews (Amiga Anywhere)
  Author: Fwiffo   Date Verified:
The name Amiga in this day and age probably has less of a hold on youthful gamers than it had back in the days of Atari. Back then, Amiga represented one of the elite platforms for gaming. That is, until people figured out the PC could do a little more than crunching numbers and replacing the typewriter. Even then, the Amiga was always known for its artistic prowess both in the audio and visual departments. Vis-à-vis the use and composition of soundtracks, the Amiga had a je ne sais quoi that many people, including me, found appealing.

Amiga hardware finally shipping. If you're in the market for an Amiga box, today is a day for celebration. If you'd like an Amiga operating system to go with it, then perhaps you'd better leave the champagne on ice. EyeTech Group Ltd., which announced the commercial availability of the AmigaOne in March, announced the rerelease and update of the AmigaOne after the company's developers discovered problems in the company's custom chipset. Although the company now offers systems based upon the PowerPC 7451 processor used in the Apple Macintosh, systems still won't be available until "just before Christmas", the U.K.-based firm said.

REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 18, 2002 -- Holiday shoppers are finding some of the lowest prices ever for Windows Powered Pocket PCs this holiday season. The recent introduction of Pocket PCs from Dell and HP, some with a suggested retail price of less than US$200 (with rebate) opens the door for a broad range of customers to Windows Powered devices. Independent software and hardware makers have recognized this expanded opportunity and are creating myriad products that enable consumers to add specialized software and hardware to their devices.

  Your Guide to AmigaOne
  Author: AmigFlame   Date Verified:
Your Guide to AmigaOne. The final preparations are being worked out which will see the next generation Amiga known as AmigaOne make its official debut. Bill McEwen outlined in his latest Executive Update that there is a need to now properly plan, budget, and order for the production of the AmigaOne. To determine how many Amiga users want to get their hands on the new Amiga they want users to purchase a $50.00 coupon from the Amiga Anywhere Shop. This coupon will entitle you to $50 off the price of AmigaOne/ AmigaOS 4.0. However, before Amiga users bust open their piggy banks I thought it would be appropriate to provide a guide to AmigaOne, so you'll better understand the gains of becoming an AmigaOne user.
