    Today's Highlights
       - I hope everyone had the safest and happiest Christmas they could this year. Only a couple of more days left then we can 'stick a fork' in this year and call it done. While no one knows what lies ahead, I for one plan on staying optimistic. Not because it's Amiga way but rather what's the odds of next year it being any worse? LOL!

New Links (22) (322 added so far this year)
    • John "Chucky" Hertell: Follow is journey as he uilds his Amiga 4000 Replica, ReAmiga 3000, Blizzard PPC 040 to 060 upgrade, A3640 repair guide and more! Everyone needs to visit his page!
    • VIRUS HELP TEAM: We were 5 guys, who earlier worked for Safe Hex International to prevent the spreading of virus on Amiga. But as our policy concerning Amiga antivirus couldn't fit Safe Hex International's policy, we decided to leave and start on a fresh, with our own Virus Help Team, which started on 1 january 1995. Our objectives are: To fight and prevent the spreading of computervirus, To aid users with virus relate problems, To support all wellknown antivirus programmer with virus, To find virus programmers and bring them to justice & To be a NON-PROFIT group. We do all this anti-virus work in our free time, we all have full time work next to our antivirus hobby.
    • Power Progress Community: Promotion and dissemination of Open Source Hardware and Software (focused but not limited to PowerPC and OpenPower architectures)
    • Amiga Ireland: Online: A one-day online gathering to make up for the cancellation of our usual annual event. Since the global pandemic has unfortunately left us no choice but to cancel our planned 2021 gathering in Ireland, we are planning a shorter and slightly more casual gathering online. Ticket fees go towards the running of the 2022 event. The day's schedule will be announced in January. Note: this online event is not the same as the now-cancelled 2021 event (i.e. we haven't just moved the event online). This is an less formal gathering for us to get together, talk, have an interview or two and some hi-score gaming competitions. There may be some workshops. 2021 plans have been postponed to 2022 and will take place in Athlone, Ireland.
    • GNU/Linux Open Hardware PowerPC notebook: The game has changed, now GNU/Linux is everywhere running on every CPU architectures and devices. It's the right time to make new choices, an Open Hardware PowerPC Notebook designed around GNU/Linux, make it happen!
    • Amiga Books: Find the following here. Amiga 500 - step by step, Forgotten Queen of Machines, Wordworth 7 - user`s maual, Deluxe Paint - user`s manual, MorphOS - Volume One & Two, AMIGA OS 3.1 Volume One, Two & Three, AMIGA OS 4 every day, AMIGA OS 3.9 User's manual, Directory Opus 5 User`s manual, AMIGA OS 4.1 Emulation, AMOS Programming base, BLITZ BASIC Programming base & more. Available in either paper,e-book or both formats.
    • Power A5000: The A5000 was one of the first Amiga clones announced following the Gateway purchase (1997). The joint DCE/Power Computing project was a mid-range system based upon a new motherboard design. Like the BoXeR it was to be entirely modular, opening the way for a range of market specific systems.
    • DCE A5000 photos/flyer: (Google Cache) There was a request on Amiga.org from user A6000 (a long time ago!) and more recently CD32Freak, for the DCE A5000 photos. I managed to find the original photos and here they are. The DCE A5000 (and A6000) was an unreleased machine, but it was ractually existing in prototype form when it was shown at the Computer ’97 show in Germany. I picked up this flyer while I was at the show. I believe there also exists some photos of the actual motherboard. I will take a look for it, but it may be also available on the web.
    • Freedom Translator Client API: This program is a API to use with the most important programs on amiga, like, email, irc, browsers, text editors to translate selected texts, supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish.
    • Demoscene the Amiga Years Volume 1: Demoscene the Amiga years reflects the making of the best demos as well as the history of the most emblematic and best known groups of the demoscene. Discover numerous pictures of demos through more than 450 pages as well as contributions of "sceners". This book is the first volume covering the years 1984 to 1993 with about 90 demos amongst the most famous and popular ones.
    • Borrowed Time (Web Archive): Old school Amiga site. Lots of software and information.
    • Ami Sector One (Web Archive): Borrowed Times archive of Ami Sector One. Ami Sector One was founded by Bernd way back in August 1998 - It is now one of the All Time great sites, but not just for games. It also contains many demo's and even cover scans...
    • Back to the Roots (Web Archive): Borrowed Times archive of Back to the Roots. I created this page on 30.06.98 because I saw that I had many games and demos, which the world had never seen online before. Back to the Roots (BTTR), was planned as a site which features mostly rare games. I wouldnīt upload games like Alien Breed or Cadaver, which were online at every other site. I wanted to give people some really rare stuff... And therefore Iīve founded BTTR with 11MB webspace on a Tripod Server.
    • Essential "must-have" Amiga programs. (EAB Thread): A good thread on Engligh Amiga Board on the subject.
    • Welcome to OWB for AROS: What is OWB for AROS? AROS port of Origyn Web Browser is a Zune-based application created by Stanisław Szymczyk as one of the requirements of Port an Open Source Browser To AROS bounty. It’s using OWB encapsulated in a Zune class as a rendering engine.
    • OWB Web Browser for AmigaOS: OWB is a web browser designed for CE devices such as mobile phones, portable media players, Set Top Boxes and TV decoders, and any other consumer electronic product (GPS, home-gateways, Web-radios, PVR, DVD recorders, wireless devices etc.)
    • Linux Kernel 5.10 for the X1000 and X5000: Here you can find several different version.
    • Super Tux Kart: Here you can find several different version for AmigaOS, MorphOS, AROS & Add-on Packs.
    • New GBAPII++ RTG-ZorroII graphic cards: I proudly present the new RTG-graphics board for all Bigbox-Amigas and the Amiga500: The GBAPII++ is now commercially available at kryoflux. The GBAPII++ is a ZorroII-card featuring the fast Cirrus GD5434 graphics chip and 2MB of video-ram. An automatic monitor-switch between an external VGA-source (e.g. flickerfixer) and the RTG-graphics is integrated. The card is developed, tested, approved and manufactured in Germany.
    • Essential 68K Mac Software for Basilisk II: Tragically, developers have stopped creating software that will run on a 68K Macintosh. But thankfully, old Mac aficionados have some options. What follows is a list of software that will run on your emulated Macintosh. I'm a big fan of System 7.5.5 (which is free), so I've only listed software that is compatible with it. These titles have all been tested to work in Basilisk II. And, of course, the software should work on a real 68K Mac.
    • New Amiga Sports Programmable Co-Processor, Dualcore PPC (OS News Thread): After days of wild speculation and ridiculously fast-growing threads on AmigaWorld.net, we finally know most of what we need to know about the new Amiga. This is not just a random PowerPC evaluation board that you can stuff in a generic case – no, this is an all-new system with a custom motherboard, and some very, very interesting innovations – like a fully customisable co-processor. Twenty-five years after the introduction of the first Amiga, this is one heck of a machine.
    • Computer Connection (Web Archive): Twenty 22 years ago Computer Connection opened its door's inside of Tracy Music. We started selling music software for Amiga computers through the music store a year prior. As the Amiga picked up steam we decided to sell all Amiga products through our new business Computer Connection. New lines included NewTek products such as DigiPaint and DigiView.

    Today's Highlights
       - MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! It's a real Christmas miracle. I did some work on the backend of the website and there were a few 'real' surprises on the frontend with the Amiga. I added a 'days left' contdown under the Support Crowd Funding menu and Hyperion released Update 2 for AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, ACube Systems said new Sam460cr boards will hit the road soon, the newly published Amiga Addict Issue 1 shiped and AmiKit X (v. 2017) has been made available for everyone at a 'Pay What You Want' price! Thanks Jan!! All in all I can think of WORSE ways to wrap up 2020.

    • Ultimate Amiga: News, Forums, Downloads and more.
    • AMOS TOME Series IV Manual: TOME IV is the most powerful map editing system on any computer anywhere (TOME Series 3 is the second most powerful). TOME is used to create huge game maps, which you can then use in your AMOS programs to give you huge background areas without using up much memory.
    • Adventurs in Amiga Land: LOTS of GREAT walk throughs on various topics such as: Getting the Amiga CD32 online, Set up A590 in WinUAE/FS-UAE, Adding a Graphics Card to the Amiga 500, Diagnosing Tank Mouse Click Problem, Amiga 600 Key Cap Repair, WinUAE configuration for ACA500plus and many more.
    • Amiga-Digital-Video: Add pixel-perfect HDMI output to the Amiga machines. For all Amiga versions that have a socketed DIP Denise chip, a rather small adapter board can be used to extract the digital video signal (12 bit) to a 40-pin connector compatible with the Raspberry Pi Zero. This can then be used with the RGBtoHDMI software to produce a perfect HDMI picture with very low latency (a few milliseconds at most).
    • PluginKIT-For-AGK: This repository contains files of the DarkBASIC Professional 2DPluginKIT and eXtends plugins port for AppGameKIT. This version is improved in many ways to fit AppGameKit system and structures. (AmiDark)
    • AmigaDOS Introduction: The AmigaOS.net Wiki introduction about AmigaDOS.
    • Amiga Web Directory Archives: The WHOLE reason AmigaSource exists! Thanks for shutting down your site 20 years ago! The Amiga Web Directory was a free service of the Champaign-Urbana Computer Users Group. The site was actively operated from May 16, 1994 to January 1, 2000. Thanks to all our members, friends and supporters throughout the years. Contact CUCUG by accessing our comment page.

    • A4000DB: This is a recreation of the Amiga 4000 DaughterBoard. I have made it from ground using the A4000 original schematics. It includes all the Zorro slots and also include a VGA 15khz output connector to use with a VGA metal bracket. The ISA ports has been removed from the design. Some new options has beed added on the new version 1.2 This work great on all the Amiga 4000 revisions, except of course the A4000T.
    • The Amiga Show: It's the show made entirely on and about the Amiga computer. It's The Amiga Show!
    • Amiga Magazine Rack!: The Amiga Magazine Rack was launched in early 2007 after more than 2 years of development. The website you see today grew from 3 independent coverdisk and review indexes independently compiled by members of the Hall of Light team. The site has close ties with the Hall of Light games database, with extensive cross-linking between the two sites. As a result, the current focus of the Amiga Magazine Rack is games, although application/hardware reviews and serious articles will be indexed in the fullness of time. The Amiga Magazine Rack is backed by a large review database which is linked to tens of thousands of scanned pages.
    • Amiga Reviews: What is this website about...? I am an avid videogame magazines collector collecting magazines since 1989. Back in 2000 my old mags from the Eighties started to fall apart and I decided to preserve them by converting game reviews to HTML. This website contains 7811 reviews of 2375 games for the Amiga home computer that originally appeared between 1987 and 2000 in seven mags I regularly bought: Amiga Computing, Amiga Format, Amiga Joker, Amiga Power, CU Amiga, ZERO and Zzap!
    • Magazine Indexes (Young Monkeys): Article & Reveiw index for NewTekniques, NewtekPro, Video Toaster User, AC's Tech, Amazing Computing, Amiga Domaine Public, Amiga Info, Amiga Informer, Amiga News, Amiga Survivor, Amiga World, Amiga World Tech Journal, CU Amiga & Scientific Amigan.
    • (AO) The AIM Project: The AIM Project (Amiga Indexes of Magazines) is here to provide an index of Amiga magazines so you'll know which magazine to find a specific review/preview/feature/etc in. ACE Magazine, Amiga Computing, Amiga Force, Amiga Format (Games & Serious), Amiga Power (Games), Amiga Power (PD), Amiga User International, CU-Amiga, The One Amiga & Zero
    • Bars&Pipes Professional 2.5: One of the best sequencers for AMIGA and the benchmark for later sequencer programs instructions by Alfred Faust. (German)
    • Amiga DB23 RGB to VGA Flickerfixer Scandoubler Adapte: This is a complete and ready to go ScanDoubler for your Amiga computer. This converter is compatible with all Amiga computers with the DB23 RGB connector on board. This product is based on our COREi64 original GBS8200 case, however, has been modified slightly in the cable connection area of the case. Internally, the case has a mounting point to firmly hold the DB23 cable as it enters the case.
    • RetroCollector: Our main goal is to document all the different releases of each game for each platform. Although there are many good websites for retro enthusiasts, most of these tend to focus on game titles and not releases. A collector will find it interesting to know exactly which releases there were of one game, and in many cases there can be quite a lot for one game alone - different media, packaging and regions. Furthermore we want this site to become a main information hub for identifying whether your release is complete or not. Our requirement is that a game does not exist until there is an actual picture of the box and its contents and we also want a cropped cover scan/photo for each title.
    • Amiga 500 USB Keyboard Controller Kit: This is a kit which will allow you to convert a (preferably non-functional) Commodore Amiga 500 or Commodore Amiga 500+ into a USB keyboard which can be used just like any other USB keyboard. It also includes two joystick ports which allow you to use standard 9 pin Commodore / Atari style joysticks as USB joysticks (for joysticks only, they do not support the Amiga mouse), and two audio jacks to connect to provide rear audio output from a Raspberry Pi or other single board computer.
    • Basilisk II: This is old version of Basilisk II, I know there are newer more update versions around on GITHUB. This version focusses on AmigaOS4.1, so is designed around AmigaOS4.1 native graphic feature.
    • AmigaLook Beautiful Your Workbench: Over 240+ Backdrops, Themes, Icons, GUI, Pointers, Skins & Screenshots for your viewing pleasure & use.
    • Scripted AMIGA Emulator: This site is the home and demopage of the Amiga emulator in pure HTML5 and JavaScript. It is heavily based on WinUAE and does use the AROS Kickstart replacement. (Gamrs, Tools, Demos: Reg & AGA)
    • D520 HDMi Video Converter For Amiga Classic: Video converter: analogue video signals of the Amiga classic into digital video signals. No modification of the Amiga required: plug it into the DB23 video port of any Amiga Classic.
    • Santa Run 2020: Santa Run is a free Christmas game that was created in seven days for all Commodore Amiga fans. Control Santa as you leap from roof to roof and deliver presents down the chimneys. Santa Run is a score based game, if you reach the end of the street you will have completed the game. A nice greeting awaits at the end of the game.

    • Icaros Desktop: Icaros Desktop is an Amiga-like operating system for the PC platform, with a full desktop environment, distributed on a bootable media. It's based on AROS, a lightweight, efficient and flexible open-source operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas. Icaros Desktop runs native AROS applications but also the original Amiga ones under emulation, transparently integrating them onto its desktop.

    • How to use a Raspberry PI as an Amiga Floppy Drive Emulator: After several years of hard work, my Amiga floppy drive stopped working leaving me in trouble... do I have to buy a new drive (but several disks are in bad condition too), buy a floppy emulator (nice but expensive for retro fun) ... or try to use my Raspberry PI other than as xbmc player?

    • Fienix: Fienix is a modern operating system designed specifically for PowerPC based personal computers and workstations. Stop being left behind! Fienix includes the latest, greatest software. Everything has been tested to ensure functionality on PowerPC systems. This is not a remix. Fienix includes customizations, unique applications, and games not found in other distributions. It also includes PowerPC bug fixes and performance enhancements not found elsewhere. They have a version for the A-EON X5000.
    • AmigaLinux.org: Linux downloads for the AmigaOne X1000, SAM and other AmigaOne computers.
    • AmigaOne-Linux kernal project: Linux support for the AmigaOne/MAI Teron CX/MAI Teron PX consumer PowerPC motherboards.
    • (archive.org) Sunrize Industries Audio: We've been using the AD516 card manufactured by Sunrize Industries for all of our recording work here at EMRL since 1996. At that point, it was already out of date, with Sunrize having stopped production and closed up shop in 1994, shortly after Commodore went bankrupt. Why would we choose to use this outdated hardware/software combo? Firstly, the hardware sounds quite good, and it's expandable, allowing up to 4 cards in the same machine! We currently have three of them installed in our A2000T.
    • AD516/AD1012/Studio16 Frequently Asked Questions v1.12: This is the Studio 16 mailing list's Frequently Asked Questions and their answers. The purpose of the FAQ is to be a resource on answers and information. Its secondary purpose is also to prevent questions from being asked over and over again. Bear in mind that this FAQ is not an usermanual, nor a developer document. It's purpose is only to answer commonly/frequently asked questions.
    • AD516/AD1012/Studio16 files: Various software downloads for the Sunrise and Studio16 cards.
    • Amigaland.de (German): The Amigaland, as the name suggests, deals with the Amiga computer, which was the home computer par excellence between 1985 and 1994 and is still used by some. Even today there is a wide fan base that identifies with the Amiga. We belong to it and dedicate this page to the cult computer. We want to preserve retro, classic and history and offer this page for that. Find out everything about the AmigaOS and its associated computer. We tell many stories and also offer loads of downloads to bring this computer back to life with emulation. Find the right games, but also apps or demos, and have fun with them. In addition to the freeware offers, we have commercial software for which we have a license to download.
    • Das U-Boot -- the Universal Boot Loader: Welcome to the Wiki area for cooperating on U-Boot development. This is the DENX U-Boot and Linux Guide to Embedded PowerPC, ARM and MIPS Systems. The document describes how to configure, build and use the firmware Das U-Boot (typically abbreviated as just "U-Boot") and the operating system Linux for Embedded PowerPC, ARM and MIPS Systems.
    • AD516/AD1012/Studio16 files: Addons for VT, TriCaster, 3Play, LiveText, TVP Animation, Aura, Mirage, Directory Opus, Total Commander, Excel, Windows Explorer, and more. Plus support for Commander, ImageFX, MIDI SYStem EXplorer, Studio 16 & The Visible Human Project.
    • Beyond the Four Gigabyte Barrier: Amiga has released OS 3.5 and added official support for hard-drives larger than 4 Gigabyte. The previously released New Style Device (NSD), as discussed below, is now the official supported standard. It is important to realize that the added NSD support does NOT mean that software that uses a custom file system, such as Movie Shop, will now work with larger hard-drives. If this software didn't work without NSD, it still won't work with it. Also, hard drive applications such as DiskSalv, Ami-Back Tools, etc. will still not work properly, unless they are updated to support NSD.
    • ProAction 1.8 - A New GUI System For Scripting Under AmigaOS: ProAction. It's a bit of a bad pun on the name of the GUI toolkit this system supports. Reaction. ProAction. Is basically an ARexx host, there are many about, this one is designed to provide GUI's for scripts (or even full programs!). The difference with ProAction is that whilst the script is sending commands to the ProAction server, the server is sending a separate stream of commands to the scripts own ARexx port. It can be used by any scripting language that can both send ARexx commands and implment it's own ARexx port. So that might mean Python using the arexx module thatcomes with the official AmigaOS version, perl using the arexx module from perl_Reaction (Hmmmm....) or even ARexx! (using rexxsupport.library).
    • SuperTuxKart (German): SuperTuxKart is an open source clone of the console classic Super Mario Kart and based on TuxKart. As with Super Mario Kart, it applies to its competition to hinder with some items. The aim of the game is to be the first to die Cross finish line. There are over 15 race tracks, time, individual and Grand Prix races and a multiplayer mode are available. SuperTuxKart loading requires at least a 1 GHz CPU.

    • USB Joystick Adapter: For emulation oriented retro gamers, here is the USB joystick adapter. This adapter enable you to connect any Atari style joystick to a USB compatible machine (Like a PC, a MAC, a Raspberry Pi, The C64…). The integrated microcode is simulating a standard HID joystick.
    • Soigeneris: Manufacturers of items for various Hi-Tech hobbies. Case saver for the A600/1200, square DIN 5-pin power connector & the new makers long gone DB23 connector.

    • The Amiga 1000 Rejuvenator (part 1): If you’re an Amiga 1000 owner, you are in a special club of sorts. You’re blessed with the “Original Amiga” and the one many consider the “only” Amiga from a historical perspective (it’s not fair, but people talk like that sometimes). You have a machine that shook the tech world to its core, that was embraced by pop culture heavy-weights like Andy Warhol and Debbie Harry, and brought professional-level creative computing into people’s homes. • Unofficial CS-Labs Warp 3060/4060 Page: Why this page? I started it simply as a means of collecting all known Warp card info spread out across the web. My hope is that it's helpful to other Warp accelerator card enthusiasts out there; my interest is that I have an Amiga 3000 and Amiga 4000. :) It's a work in progress, and I trust that when/if CS-Lab has time to document and post more info, this site will perhaps become unnecessary. Check out the unofficial specifications list. **NICE**

    • Commodore Amiga 600 and 1200 USB keyboard kit : The A600 and A1200 are very different from the Amiga 500. The A500 had a keyboard controller board on the back of the keyboard, and a serial interface to the mainboard. The Amiga 500 USB keyboard controller I built for that was a lot simpler in hardware terms, but a bit more effort to implement the serial protocol in the microcontroller.

    • Hyperion vs Cloanto, the longest running lawsuit in the history of computing?: Delphi and C++ builder developers will probably not have much interest in this, but as far as general IT news goes, this one is attracting interest far and wide due to the sheer absurdity involved. • Let’s setup a new fresh Amiga 500 using Amibian!: Hi 8-bit friends, today we’ll talk about another mighty computer of the 80s: the Amiga by Commodore, one that I really love (I still have my original 500 model bought when it came out). In my case, for example, I want to keep the real Amiga machines as safe as possible: an emulated one comes really handy for this purpose, and also it’s really easy to take it on the road, since the two ingredients are a Raspberry PI (here I use the RPI 3 model B, but other RPI models are supported as well) and a Linux distro called Amibian.
    • Amibian: Amibian is what you need to transform your Raspberry Pi into an Amiga. It is a very lightweight sd card image - 2GB and up. It is made to give you the best Amiga experience, without having an actual Amiga. Remember, Re-live, Re-discover the joy of Amiga easily, with cheep hardware and minimum effort.

    • Catweasel AmigaOS driver development page!: This driver is modified from the original OS4 driver written by Kjetil Hvalstrand, based on Linux sources. catweasel.device is entirely under the GPL, source available on request.
    • Catweasel Floppy Read/Write Tools: I wrote a set of programs for use with the Catweasel. My programs run on Linux, Windows 95, or MS-DOS and work with the Catweasel MK1, MK3, and MK4. They don't run on the Amiga -- sorry. Note: My Catweasel programs also do not run on Windows NT, 2000, XP, or 2003. I'm not sure if they run on Windows 98 or ME. The problem is that they talk directly to the hardware; they do not go through a device driver loaded into the operating system.
    • AmigaSYS: The AmigaSYS is a fully pre-configured system. To install, you'll need the original AmigaOS CD or disk (AmigaOS 3.0 or 3.1 or 3.9), after installing these, we will get the full configured system. The AmigaSYS pack contains every important program, which could be required by the user.

The design isn't proven yet but was created from the original schematics and PCB layout.
    • Listen to CD and Amiga audio out of the PicassoIV line output at the same time: This little gem was developed at Village Tronic Computer back in the day by a service technician, after the audio circuits of the PicassoIV was chiseled in stone and had some short comings. • Recreation of PicassoIV FlickerFixer attachment/snap-off pcb for cards missing it: This is a recreation from original data of the small snap off PCB of the PicassoIV (PIV) Amiga RTG graphics card. I created this because often cards seem to be sold without this PCB and then the FlickerFixer/ScanDoubler of the card cannot be used. The design hasn't been proven yet but as said is created from the original schematics and PCB layout. This is a four layer PCB.

      - One of the things I have planned after I finish the site upgrade is to focus on bringing togeher the various bits of Amiga information scattered to the four winds and compiling them easy to find comprehensive sources of information. Take for example this list of 'all the Amiga custom chips & chipset names'. There are more than a dozen really good sources but none have all of them in one spot. Most of these names are found on your typical chip listing, but some are so 'rare' that I have added the specific link used. So for my first attempt here are all the names I could find compiled into one 'hopefully close to being' a complete list.

Note: Use this Big Old List as a guide because I'm sure it's **NOT 100% accurate**, but hey it's a start. Let me know if you find any HUGE mistakes.

      - Two things today.
        - I can't belive that it's been 5 years since the Amiga's 30th Anniversary Event held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California. The event was crowd founded on Kickstarter and was a GREAT success. While I didn't attend, I did get a T-Shirt. So if you were like me and missed out hopefully you can make it to the Silicon Valley Amiga 35th: A celebration of the Past for the Future event being held on June 6th and 7th in the heart of Silicon Valley. Several Amiga personalities are scheduled to attend including Dale Luck, RJ Mical, and Trevor Dickinson. The show floor will consist of "Before Commodore" Amiga artifacts (some of which have not been seen publicly for more than 30 years), displays of Commodore Amigas, and next-generation Amigas. Tickets are on sale now at Eventbrite.

    Long live the Amiga!

        - And while I'm slowly and quietly working on the complete rewrite of the site, I have updated the SEARCH module to give better results. Try it and see what you find. **NOTE** Quite a few of the links are dead so for now you'll have to manually search for them on Archive.org. Don't worry the new site will do this automatically for you. Happy searching!

You can read a bit more over at Amigaworld.net forums.

    Today's Highlights
      - Couple bits of interest
        - On a sad note former Amiga OS developer Daren Greenwald passed away earlier this month. While his name may not have been as recognizable as others, his work certainly was. Daren is credited for increasing the compatibility of software after OS 2.x was released, various hardware drivers, reworking the Console driver, getting the PCMCIA to work on the A600 and so much more. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife and children.

-On a happier note, at least to me, GenerationAmiga.com is back *again* from oblivion. As reported back on 3 Feb, GenerationAmiga made its first updates in 7 months only to go dark again a few days later. Editor and founder, Jimmy Proost, tells of a massive DMCA attack launched by Phase 5 and Amiga technologies UG that took them completely off-line. After much rework on the back end he removed everything that could be considered a violation and the site is up and running again.

-NEWS FLASH the TABOR is delayed! In his latest blog Trevor states that due to the coronovirus the anticipated shipping date could be pushed back to 3rd quarter 2020. Personally I like the discussion over at Amigaworld.net. Will they use this delay to offer the same bundle to more people?

Matthew Leaman informed me that, due to factory shutdowns, several of his new classic Amiga hardware products have not been shipped or are now greatly behind schedule. A-EON Technology's A1222 early Adopter development and release schedule has similarly been affected and Matthew thinks the delays could push production into the third quarter of this year
    ...Only two more weeks...

    Today's Highlights
      - Sorry in advance to being cynical but at this point I don't know why I even bother to get my hopes up in the slightest over anything that happens on the legal side of the Amiga world. The recent talks between Colanto and Hyperion collapsed into what I believe is shown by the picture below. I need to realize that *at this point* the possibility of any type of compromise or cooperation in the *epic cluster* that is the Amiga legal saga is utterly hopeless.

It's hard to believe that it's been over 25 years since Commodore went bankrupt and people are still fighting tooth and nail for the a little slice of the pie while in the end there will be no one left to serve it to. I know I'll never find out what their motivation is but at least this much is clear... There's still no end in sight but I'm going to keep sticking around it if happens to show up!

    Here we go again...

      - Hats off to Swizpig for doing an OUTSTANDING job of porting the first person shooter Gloom to Linux and windows. The software is still a 'work in progress'. You can't yet change weapons or take damage but the game play is very smooth.

    Today's Highlights
      - Lots of activity over the past two weeks but here are the three that stand out to me. The first one is from Amiga-News-de reporting a newly submitted joint request between Hyperion and Colanto asking the judge to extend a 7 Feb 2020 deadline due to "Business representatives of Hyperion, Cloanto, and C-A Acquisitions, Inc. have been engaged in several days of intensive face-to-face settlement discussions in Europe geared toward a global resolution of all claims [...]. Hyperion, Cloanto, and C-A Acquisitions, Inc. are finalizing changes to a negotiated term sheet, which they anticipate will soon be executed." Is it just me or should more people talking about this while being cautiously optimistic? Oh well, as always in Amigaland... Two more weeks.

-The second one is an update to an Amiga specific package for the IDE Atom created by Alper Sonmez. For those not familiar, the package "provides complete syntax highlighting for the AmigaOS API symbols (also provides complete auto-complete snippets with links to online documentations for functions)." The latest update has a "menu that can create a full fetched, multi platform (thanks to SDI headers) and ready to compile Amiga library source code on the fly." You can read a bit more from Alper himself at Amigaworld.net. Very nice!!

    The Amiga Package for Atom

-And the third one is Generation Amiga.com is finally back after a 6 month hiatus. Don't know why the pause but I'm happy they're back!

      - Well it has been a long time coming but I have finally thrown my hat back in the ring and hopped on the A1222 bandwagon, and to tell you the truth I'm actually really excited. Only time will tell how this system plays out. Fingers crossed!!.

      - And to make my life a bit simpler I added a new table on the left hand side just for Tabor/A1222 links. Hope this helps someone else out too.

      - More sad news to report. It was announced today that on 7 January Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist of the worlds BEST progressive rock band Rush, passed at the age of 67 due to brain cancer.

    Neil Peart

It is with broken hearts and the deepest sadness that we must share the terrible news that on Tuesday our friend, soul brother and band mate of over 45 years, Neil, has lost his incredibly brave three and a half year battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma). We ask that friends, fans, and media alike understandably respect the family's need for privacy and peace at this extremely painful and difficult time. Those wishing to express their condolences can choose a cancer research group or charity of their choice and make a donation in Neil Peart's name. Rest in peace brother. Neil Peart September 12, 1952 - January 7, 2020
    From Rush.com

After the departure of the original drummer John Rutsey in 1974, Neil quickly changed the tone and direction of the band from a rock trio to progressive music legends. Along with bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson, they made the most incredible music for more than 40 years.

As a young boy my discovery of Moving Pictures launched my life long love afair with the Bass guitar and countless hours trying to be like them. Their music was the sound track of my youth and has been with me ever since. Thank you for bringing so much joy to the lives of everyone who had the pleasure to embrace your lyrics and become one with the music!
